Dovedale Dash 06/11/2011

Congratulations to all Hatton Darts who sucssfully completed the Dovedale Dash in wonderful conditions!!

Despite a cold start to the day, the sun rose and gave the day a wonderful lift for the 11.00am start. 1,500 Runners sprinted down the start hill towards the track leading to the stepping stones crossing the river. Manic best describes the scene!! The very brave (?) ones managed to speed down the hill to beat the crowds and were able to get to the river before it became a mad scramble across. For the most, arriving at the river promised to be a nice wake-up call to thse who had not had their Weetabix and Red Bull earlier.

With wet feet everywhere, trudging through fields with mud that became several inches deep was the order of the day.

First home was the ever dependable Tony Caulton in 39th Place, followed several minutes later by Andy Crockdford (122 who was involved in a close finish with Nigel Maguire (129) and team captain Paul Mellor (130). Next home was Chris Matthews with Johnathon Gregson (337) and then Carol Sharratt who completed the course in a credible 48:30 minutes.
Brave efforts from "friends of Darts" included Kevin Spare (Derby AC), Ruth Matthews and Jan Dingley (Washlands Women), Graham Dingley, Rob Sharatt, Mick Kelsall and Paul Smith (Burton AC).

Many thanks to Kelly for all the Photos and those who came and supported.
