Sunday 18th August 2005
Uttoxeter's recreation park was the
setting for last Sundays annual Uttoxeter cross country event. A three
lap, not too easy course, with 9 water jumps and hills lay before 2
members of Hatton Darts male runners and 90 plus other competitors.
Pete Wright and Dave Gilman were 2 prime candidates to attend this event and how well they performed.
First in for the Darts was Pete Wright whose last lap was well tactically run and crossed the line in 27 mins 18 secs and his strong stern run earned him 2nd vet 40 prize. Following in Wrights shadows Dave Gilman running on all cylinders powered his way up the steep hill finish to romp Home in 28 mins 29 secs and again for his good effort gained 4th male vet 40 prize.
The Darts duo wre disappointed on missing the team prize due to the failure of a third team member who did not make it to the event.
