Hatton Darts Grand Prix season continued with a local 5 mile race through the quaint villages of Weston and Aston on Trent.

With the London Marathon just a week away turn out was low, yet two of the 26.2 mile bound Darts turned out completing the race having already negotiated the course just an hour previous in eager preparation for the greatest race of all that awaits on the 17th April.

In the red vests of Hatton Jason Tilley and Nigel Elson enjoyed the pre race 5 mile warm up after which they enjoyed a fine race with team mate Stan Knopik. Knopik eventually taking top Dart honours with a fine 29 mins 30secs. Tilley just a place behind in 30 mins 8 secs, Elson hanging onto them both and crossing the line in 30 mins 40 secs. Behind them a battle for points ensued between stalwart Tony Press 33 mins 22 secs and long distance runner Dean Taylor 33 mins 23 secs. Geoff Mulcahy 35 mins 56 secs, just manageing to hold off fast finishing Phil Salt 36 mins12 secs.

There was disappointed at the lack of any competing women in the Red vests of Hatton but London is surely being considered as runners all over the country prepare this event. Hatton Darts would like to wish all their runners luck on Sunday as well as all other local club / non club runners and joggers alike.
